Hazrat Junayd Al-bagdadi Ra.
Hazrat Junayd Bagdadi Ra. was one of the famous and greatest sufis of Islam. He is regarded as the Sultan (king) of sufis. He was born in 80 C.E. He was the nephew of another great sufi saint Hazrat Sirri as sakti Ra. Hazrat sirri assakti Ra. took care of his nephew very well from his childhood. Because he realized that this boy will came to the thorn of Tasawf in future. And so the fact was!
He made a significant contribution in terms and theories of Tasawf. He inspired us to cultivate good manners and to demolish or annihilate bad natural habits such as Hasad (envy or jealousy), Tama (illegal desire), Uzub (self-admiring), Kibr (self-admiring), Ria (Hypocrisy) etc.
There are many mysterious incidents regarding him. One day some bad persons said o the Caliph that Hazrat Junayd Bagdadi Ra. was not a good man originally. Then the Caliph want to investigate him. One day The Caliph said to one of his beautiful maids, go to Junayd wearing short dresses and call him. After that when the maid reached into Junayd's house and said the taught sayings, Junayd looked at her only for once and the maid felled on earth as a dead women. The Caliph repented for his misdeed and said: ''let him stay alone. I don't know why man disturb him.''
Before his death in 910 C. E. hazrat junayd started reciting the Holy Quran. His disciples said why are you doing the recitation in this terrible situation? He replied, my account of good deeds will close soon and after that I have no way to make sawab (reward of good deeds) anymore. He was such a noble man!
